Employee turnover is an old age problem in any institution which could never be avoided but its effects should have already been eliminated or even just mitigated. When an employee leaves, they take with them their expertise and knowledge in their line of work—the brain drain.

Back in the good old days of our grandparents, work was all about passion; they look for a good company and work there for the rest of their lives, and they consider it a great honor and privilege to do so, even if it is monotonous. This mentality no longer holds true for most in era of the mobile internet. There is now more emphasis on work-life balance, it isn’t all about work anymore but it is also about giving emphasis on your life with family, friends, and yourself. Basically the emphasis shifted from “I work because I love my job” to “I work so I have the money to do what I love”.
